This week, Mofo Squad War Stories is excited to bring you this feature story on one of our newly enlisted Mofo Squad members to get to know a little bit more about them. We had a chance to smoke 'em cause we had 'em with strategy and tactics expert Strong Harm.
MSWS: When did you first begin playing the Battlefield series and what was it that caught your interest?
MSWS: When did you first begin playing the Battlefield series and what was it that caught your interest?
STRONG HARM: I played back in the 1942 days.. like noshit Normandy.. that's how old I am.
Omaha Beach: No where to run, no where to hide
I only played BF1942 briefly. Though I liked the idea, I didn't think it was that much of a challenge. I was busy in a Counterstrike league at the time. I've played every version since.
I really started liking the series during the BF2 days. I wish they'd implement the command UI again!
BF2 Commander Screen
The most time I've ever put into an FPS is since I started squading up with MOFO.. squad beats solo every time.
STRONG HARM: I used the name HARM (stands for High Speed Anti Radiation Missile) in early to current flight sims.
HARM Missile
After 1st person shooters came out, I started using Strong Arm.. which is a common callsign for a specops incursion team. I went back and forth between Sims and FPSs trying to carry two names, but that's confusing as hell, so I combined them to StrongHarm.
Can't tell you the number of times we called him Strong HAM!
MSWS: Which of the current Mofo Squad members, did you first go into battle with?
STRONG HARM: I met Jim Reaper first, I work with him, but I really played with the whole squad together the first time when Jim invited me out to the server. I have to admit the reason I was so quiet that day is that my mouth was hanging open.. you guys are fkn nuts!
"Strongharm is holding for you on line one Mr. Reaper"
MSWS: What is your favorite kit to play and why?
STRONG HARM: BF3:Support - BF2:Smoke Same reason for both. I can bring it to the enemy with more impact, a deep grunting sweaty impact, by enabling the rest of my squad to stay alive. Much more of an impact than by trying to get a bunch of kills.
BF3 Support Class
MSWS: Tell us about your all time favorite map in the Battlefield series and why you like it?
STRONG HARM: Karkand in BF2: 1) it had no bannana house, 2) there was a great fallen log in front of the U.S. starting point.. on the hill. I'd anchor my SAW in the crook of the limb and tear the shit out of anything that passed in front of me. EA can eat a log.. for not adding my SAWrest log in Back to Karkand.
Strong's Log
MSWS: What weapon, old or new, do you wish you could add to the current BF3 game.
STRONG HARM: MP5SD - Great weapon in every way. Accurate and reliable, great CQB SMG (Close Quarters Battle Sub Machine Gun) that can operate like a SAR (Semi-Automatic Rifle).
MP5SD: CQB SMG / SAR / OMG!
WOW! Strong forgot to mention the A-10 Warthog
MSWS: What's your favorite pin you hope to see in the personal stats at the end of a game round?
STRONG HARM: Squad wipe/Ace Squad .. both say 'my squad has bigger brass'
Squad Wipe Ribbon
Ace Squad Ribbon
STRONG HARM: Situational Awareness.. look it up, study it, understand it, live by it. Once you understand that.. get a squad of good people who can do the same. Never for any reason be alone.. there should be four barrels aimed at anyone that fks with you.
MSWS: Do you have a favorite moment or funny experience in Battlefield you would like to share?
STRONG HARM: Normally Stealth leaves his bottle of vodka in another room, so he won't own it without realising it while playing BF3 and screaming obscenities that could make your ears rot off... When he actually brings the bottle back to his system with him... every single time is the funniest time.
Laugh it up, Fuzzball!
